Dr. Soumyalekshmi Nair is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR), Australia. She did her PhD from the Exosome Biology Lab, University of Queensland and investigated the role of EVs in gestational diabetes mellitus for the early screening of pregnant women and identifying therapeutic targets. Currently her research focus on understanding the role of EVs in diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and ovarian cancer, with a focus on harnessing the biomarker and therapeutic potential of these vesicles. She is passionate about supporting women in science and enhancing community engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). As early career representative, Soumya integrates the needs and views of early career researchers into the scientific and professional development activities of the committee.
