A/Prof David Greening is Head of Molecular Proteomics at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute Helen Amelia Hains Fellow, in addition to Head of the Baker Research Proteomics Platform and Director of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Platform at La Trobe University. His team employs advanced mass spectrometry to profile and understand the composition, interaction, function and therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles. His team has defined new types of extracellular vesicles, integration of proteomics and phosphoproteomics to provide new molecular insights in intercellular signalling, and generation and utility of stem cell-derived nanovesicles in tissue and cardiac repair. He has also identified employed advances in plasma proteomics and lipidomics to understand circulating extracellular vesicles in molecular detail as well as their diagnostic and clinical potential.
